Compression therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that uses compression garments, to improve circulation and reduce swelling in the legs, feet arms or hands. This therapy is commonly used to treat conditions such as varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, lymphedema and muscle aches and pains.

Compression therapy works by applying pressure to the affected area, which helps to increase blood flow and reduce the accumulation of fluid. .

Patients who may benefit from compression therapy include those with varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, those recovering from surgery, athletes post training or events or anybody with aches or pains in the legs or arms. .

Compression therapy is generally considered safe and effective, with few side effects. The most common side effect is mild discomfort or skin irritation. Compression therapy should not be used in patients with severe peripheral arterial disease, severe peripheral neuropathy, or untreated sepsis.
